    Building Control - Service Standards

    hammerWe pride ourselves on the quality of our service and continually strive to improve. We have a number of standards we set ourselves:

    • we will acknowlege all building notices within 48 hours 
    • we will process all initial notices within 10 days
    • we will vet 60% of full plans applications within 15 working days 
    • we will issue all decisions on full plans applications within the statutory period (5 weeks unless extension of time is agreed, in which case 2 months)
    • we will carry out same-day statutory inspections (except for commencement and completion) if the request is received by 10.00 am 
    • we will operate a 24 hour call out service to respond to reports of dangerous structures and attend within 2 hours 
    • we will respond to all demolition notices within 6 weeks
       
    • we will respond to all initial notices of approved inspectors within 5 working days 
    • we will process all regularisation applications for compliance
    • we will respond to request for site inspections for full plans applications and building notices within 24 hours (except commencement when 48 hours notice is required and completion when 7 days notice is required)
