Bulky Waste
Bulky household items like fridges, freezers and sofas can not be collected with the normal rubbish collection and must be disposed of seperately.
To dispose of furniture and other large items you may either get a collection or take them to the County's Household Waste Recycling Centre.
The prices for one of the following items:
- £15.00 for one chair, table, mattress, radiator, vacuum cleaner, TV, bicycle, fence panel (x2), door or general single item
- £25.00 for a cooker, carpet (3x3m), washing machine or tumble dryer
- £35.00 for a chest of drawers or four chairs or wardrobe or boiler or up to 1 cubic metre of material
- £60.00 for a piano or bed and mattress or bathroom suite or three piece suite or up to 2 cubic metres of material
- £100 for a shed, greenhouse (dismantled) or up to 4 cubic metres of material
Although EHDC is not required to, it does operate a collection service for commercial fridges for £73.62. This includes collection, safe and environmental disposal and administration charges.
How to arrange a collection
Biffa Waste Services are able to take payments over the phone if you contact them on 01962 670706.
When your items will be collected
Collections will only be arranged once payment has been received. Items must be placed out for collection at the boundary of the property i.e in the front garden or driveway.
Collection will take place when notified and will be picked up on the following days:
Tuesdays or Thursdays
Discounts for residents on benefits
Residents who are receiving housing or council tax benefit can get a discount for one collection a year. Up to four items can be collected to a maximum value of £68.17.

Please note that the Household Waste Recycling Centres are operated by Hampshire County Council.
The Furniture Helpline based in Bordon may also be interested in unwanted furniture, white goods and bedding. Your items will be refurbished and reused if chosen for collection.
